Seagrove Beach is the old-Florida stretch next to Seaside: canopy roads, Eastern Lake, and a longtime local dining row. Pick it for classic beach-cottage character a bike ride from the famous town centers.
Seagrove earned its name the honest way: groves of live oak and magnolia that shade the side streets down to the sand. It grew up as Seaside's quieter, older neighbor and still feels like the 30A of a generation ago, with Eastern Lake, another of the coastal dune lakes, marking its east side along CR-395.
It is the most convenient of the quiet towns: Seaside's town center sits at its western edge, and the CR-395 corridor runs north to Point Washington and Eden Gardens State Park when a shaded afternoon beats a bright one.
